Job Description
1. Develop and execute structured trading strategies in the Turkish power markets
2. Design, price, and execute structured products, including PPAs, cross-border capacity acquisition and trading, and end customer supply sourcing sturctures
3. Collaborate with local MET Turkey origination and trading teams to deliver tailored solutions for clients in Turkey
4. Conduct in-depth analysis of market fundamentals, price drivers, and interconnector flows within the region
5. Work closely with risk management, analytics, and data science teams to optimize portfolio performance
6. Work within the power desk (quants, fundamental analysts, structururers, traders) to build a Turkey (and other surrounding non-SDAC) forward market curve that can be effectively used for market making and liquidity generation for flows
7. Monitor and adapt to changes in market regulations and policies affecting Turkey
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, regulators, and stakeholders to stay informed of market developments
Qualifications
9. Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus
10. 5+ years of experience in power or structured trading. At least 3 years of activityin Turkey power markets is a must. Additional European energy markets experience is advantageous
11. Strong knowledge of market fundamentals, trading platforms, and financial instruments in the energy sector.
12. Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, with experience in programming languages like Python, R, or MATLAB being advantageous.
13. Demonstrated ability to design and execute profitable trading strategies in a complex and competitive market.
14. Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
