We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Manager to support the global product strategy and lead the lifecycle management for our portfolio of surgical ophthalmic anterior and posterior equipment. This is a high-impact role within a corporate environment, offering the opportunity to shape innovation in eye surgery and drive global market adoption of advanced solutions that enhance patient outcomes.
You will serve as the global voice of the customer and a key driver of cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, and Commercial teams. The ideal candidate brings deep market insight, medical device expertise, and the ability to manage complex product portfolios in a regulated environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Define and execute the strategic roadmap for surgical ophthalmic devices, aligning with global business goals and clinical trends.
* Lead the global launch of new surgical technologies such as phaco systems, and surgical accessories.
* Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to obsolescence.
* Conduct portfolio performance analyses and implement optimization strategies for underperforming or non-compliant SKUs.
* Build a deep understanding of ophthalmic surgeons’ needs through regular interaction, site visits, and participation in global congresses (e.g., ESCRS, AAO).
* Conduct structured user research and gather insights to inform clinical evidence strategies and product requirements.
* Partner with regional marketing and sales teams to drive global market uptake through differentiated positioning and effective sales tools.
* Support global training efforts with high-impact product education and surgeon engagement strategies.
* Support cross-functional teams for product development and lifecycle projects, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment.
* Collaborate with Regulatory, Clinical, Quality, and Operations on technical file readiness, evidence generation, and risk management.
* Champion the use of digital platforms for collecting surgeon feedback and monitoring product performance.
* Continuously improve product management processes and data-driven decision-making.
* Own digital application and improve them based on user experience feedback.
What Experience & Skills Do You Need:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or Business (MBA or equivalent preferred).
* Minimum 7 years of experience in product management within the medical device industry, with at least 3 years in ophthalmology or surgical devices.
* Proven success in launching Class II or Class III medical devices in global markets (MDR, FDA 510(k)/PMA).
* Deep understanding of the surgical ophthalmology market, including key procedures (e.g., cataract).
* Strong business acumen and ability to align clinical needs with commercial strategy.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of cross-functional project success.
* Experience with digital tools (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, Power BI) and strong analytical capabilities.
* Ability to travel internationally (up to 25%) to attend customer visits, conferences, and site meetings.
