Senior IC Design Engineer Position
We are seeking a skilled Senior IC Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in developing cutting-edge communication ASICs and high-speed CMOS circuits for innovative particle physics detectors.
This exciting opportunity allows you to collaborate with world-class researchers in a dynamic environment that combines expertise in radiation-tolerant microelectronics with future High Energy Physics experiments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering and significant experience in designing and verifying complex analog and mixed-signal circuits. Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso, Siemens Calibre, and other industry-standard tools is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define architectures for high-speed silicon photonics systems and design advanced CMOS circuit blocks.
* Perform lab testing, characterization, and validation of developed circuits.
* Carry out radiation qualification of manufactured devices.
You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering practical solutions and working closely with users and external partners.
A strong passion for CMOS circuit design and technology, along with excellent communication skills, are required for success in this role.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Nationality: CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* Professional Background: Electronics Engineering (or related field).
* Qualifications: Master's degree with 2-6 years of post-graduation professional experience or PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
* No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
Additional Information:
This position involves work in Radiation Areas. A monthly stipend ranging between 6287 and 6911 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax) is offered. Comprehensive health coverage, pension fund membership, and installation grant are provided. The target start date is September 2025.
Requirements:
* Design, simulation, and layout of CMOS integrated circuits using industry-standard tools.
* Experience with radiation qualification and electromagnetics simulation.
* Working knowledge of programming languages, data analysis, and laboratory characterization.
