Summary
The Securities Settlements Analyst ensures timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions across global markets. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency, mitigating settlement risk, and supporting client satisfaction through precise execution and issue resolution.
Responsibilities
* Trade Settlement Execution:
o Capture, instruct, and monitor securities and funds settlement orders.
o Ensure timely settlement of client transactions in global markets.
o Liaise with custodians, counterparties, and internal teams to resolve settlement issues and failed trades
o Perform pre-settlement activities (e.g. cashflow confirmations, SSI updates)
o Perform post-settlement activities (e.g. fails management, break resolution)
* Custody and Asset Transfers:
o Support custody settlement services as a global custodian.
o Facilitate accurate realignments and migrations of client securities positions between financial institutions
* SWIFT Messaging:
o Utilise SWIFT MT54x messages for settlement instructions and confirmations.
o Monitor and reconcile money movements including purchases, redemptions, and dividends
* Client Service Support:
o Address queries from front office, dealers, and clients regarding trade settlements.
o Collaborate with client service teams to ensure smooth transaction processing
* Compliance and Controls:
o Ensure adherence to trading standards and internal control structures.
o Participate in testing and implementation of new system releases and process improvements
Eligibility Requirements
* Education:
o Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
* Experience:
o Ideally, 1–5 years of relevant experience in securities settlements, custody operations, or financial services.
o Exposure to global products and settlement processes
* Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
o Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and settlement platforms (e.g. DTCC, Markitwire).
o Understanding of fixed income, equity and FX products along with their associated transaction lifecycle.
* Soft Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
o Effective communication and stakeholder management.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
* Languages
o German and/or English
* Work Permit
o Must possess a Swiss Work Permit or a EU Passport
