Metadata manager (Contract)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Metadata manager to support enterprise data governance and metadata management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Curate and maintain business, technical, and operational metadata (catalogs, glossaries, lineage)
* Coordinate with data stewards to ensure accurate ownership, tagging, and descriptions
* Map data lineage across systems and platforms
* Support compliance with data privacy and security policies
* Deliver workshops, documentation, and training to drive catalog adoption
* Track governance, usage, and data quality metrics
Required Profile
* 7+ years’ experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Engineering
* Hands‑on experience with enterprise data catalogs (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Alex Solutions)
* Strong SQL and experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Athena)
* Experience with metadata schemas, taxonomies, and automation (Python/APIs)
* Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills
Nice to have: Public sector experience and project management skills.
