The Director Finance and Procurement will be responsible for:Developing and providing funding & financial strategies, budget planning and analysisReconciling and closing monthly and annual financial results and metricsAdministrating cash, credit cards, bank accounts and banking relationshipDeveloping and executing procurement strategyOverseeing and managing larger-scale longer-term vendor services contracts, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality services and contract deliverablesReviewing all operational contracts and agreements, seeking legal review and approval from governing bodiesDeveloping, implementing and ensuring compliance with accounting-finance-tax standards and policies to avoid any unnecessary risksManaging back-office and administrative activities in Human Resources and Office SupportThe Director Finance & Procurement acts as a Business Partner to the Secretary General, and assists in all financial and procurement decisions, being responsible for financial integrity and accuracy of all financial statements for the ICH Secretariat. The Director Finance & Procurement partners with the ICH Finance Committee Chairs and the ICH Finance Committee.Key responsibilitiesPrepare, present and monitor the annuel budget in accordance to fundingLead financial analysis of potential investments and venturesIdentifying key operating metrics and driversMonitor and analyze monthly review of expenses, monthly forecast and cashflowSupervise accounting & payroll through an external providerManage invoicing and receipt of payments of membership feesReview and approve quarterly VAT returnsEstablish year-end closing and financial reports with commentsAct as main point of contact with auditorsPresent ad-hoc financial statements to ICH Finance Committee, ICH Management Committee and MedDRA Management CommitteeDevelop and maintain robust systems and procedures of internal controlsManage procurement activities directly or through external providers and signoff related transactionsNegotiate and manage insurances in accordance with local requirementsSupport and monitor ICH Asset Preservation StrategyLeads special projects as requiredQualifications & ExperienceAdvanced university degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration or Economy4-6 years’ experience in similar position, preferable for NGOs or start-upsChartered accountancy designation and/or audit experience are assetsSuccessful track record in implementing and improving financial and procurement processes and toolsProven project management experience combined with follow-through capabilitiesSuperb attention to details and ability to organize, prioritise and deliverUnderstanding of Swiss accounting and fiscal system and proceduresFluency in English (both written and oral), proficiency in French an assetHands-on approach, target driven and great analytical skillsTeam player with open and flexible attitude, and sound judgementProven exposure to finance and accounting ERP for small and medium companiesStrategic mindset: Sees the big picture and anticipates future trends and implications accurately, Formulates clear strategy and maps the steps that will clear accelerate the Secretariat towards its strategic goals, Instills and sustains organization-wide energy for what is possible.Optimizes tools and processes leveraging technology: Understands and recognizes disruptive trends around digital technology and leverages them to transform the organization through innovation for ICH members, Proposes a plan for leveraging new technologies and innovation including through external partners, Aligns teams and systems while influencing stakeholders to embrace new technology solutions.Leading people: Establishes common objectives and a shared mindset, Creates a feeling of belonging and strong team morale and spirit, Fosters open dialogue and collaboration among the team, Maintains processes to monitor projects and deliver strong results, Periodically reviews team progress against short and long-term plans.Manages complexity: Readily distinguishes between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations, Looks beyond the obvious to uncover the root causes and does not stop at the first answers, Analyses multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately and evaluate pros and cons, risks and benefits before moving to solutions.LocationCandidates should either already be working in Switzerland or be holding a EU citizenshipApplicationIf qualifying for this opening, please apply by sending a motivation letter and a detailed in resume in English to the email address RH@ich.org.
