Terra Nostra ist ein neu gegründeter Verein, der sich dafür einsetzt, Bevölkerungsgruppen, die oft aus der Klima- und Umweltdebatte ausgeschlossen werden, aktiv in den Dialog einzubinden, indem er sich mit ihren Werten, Prioritäten und Lebenserfahrungen auseinandersetzt und diese einbezieht.
Mit festen Wurzeln in der Schweiz entwickelt Terra Nostra lokal verankerte Initiativen, die auf die Realität der jeweiligen Gemeinschaften eingehen und praxisorientierte Ansätze zum Umweltschutz fördern – mit einer Wirkung, die über das traditionelle Klimapublikum hinaus Anklang findet.
Terra Nostra ist Teil des Netzwerks Our Common Home (OCH), einer internationalen Gruppe von Organisationen, die sich dafür einsetzt, das öffentliche Engagement für Umweltfragen zu erweitern.
Die Position
Terra Nostra sucht eine unternehmerisch denkende Führungspersönlichkeit, die die Organisation aufbaut, leitet und strategisch weiterentwickelt sowie ihre Präsenz, Partnerschaften und Wirkung ausbaut. Diese Schlüsselposition eignet sich ideal für eine Person, die Freude daran hat, Organisationen und Initiativen von Grund auf zu gestalten. Der/die künftige Stelleninhaber/-in fühlt sich in einem dynamischen Umfeld wohl, setzt Prioritäten, bewegt sich sicher in komplexen politischen Kontexten und versteht es, Akteur/-innen aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen der Schweizer Gesellschaft zusammenzubringen.
Als Geschäftsleiter/-in spielen Sie eine zentrale Rolle bei der strategischen Ausrichtung, beim Aufbau von Partnerschaften und dabei, sicherzustellen, dass sich die Organisation zu einem glaubwürdigen und einflussreichen Akteur in der Schweizer Umweltlandschaft entwickelt.
Hauptaufgaben
Strategische Führung
* Entwicklung und Umsetzung der strategischen Ausrichtung von Terra Nostra im Einklang mit der übergeordneten Mission des OCH-Netzwerks.
* Identifizierung von Möglichkeiten für wirkungsvolle Initiativen und Partnerschaften auf lokaler und nationaler Ebene.
Organisationsentwicklung
* Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung der Organisation, einschliesslich Identität, Team, Kultur und Governance-Strukturen.
* Rekrutierung, Begleitung und Leitung eines kleinen, ambitionierten Teams im Zuge des Wachstums der Organisation.
Community- und Partnerschaftsarbeit
* Aufbau und Pflege starker Beziehungen zu Gemeinschaftsvertreter/-innen, lokalen Akteur/-innen und Organisationen in der ganzen Schweiz.
* Aktive Einbindung von Bevölkerungsgruppen, deren Perspektiven in Umweltfragen bisher unterrepräsentiert sind.
Finanzierung und Ressourcenentwicklung
* Leitung der Fundraising-Aktivitäten in der Schweiz, Akquise von Förderstiftungen, philanthropischen Partnern und institutionellen Finanzgebern.
* Beitrag zur finanziellen Nachhaltigkeit von Terra Nostra und des Netzwerks Our Common Home.
Öffentliche Vertretung
* Repräsentation der Organisation in öffentlichen Diskussionen, Veranstaltungen und Medien rund um Umwelt- und Gesellschaftsthemen.
* Förderung eines konstruktiven Dialogs zwischen unterschiedlichen Bereichen der Schweizer Gesellschaft.
Operative Leitung
* Sicherstellung einer effizienten und wirksamen administrativen, finanziellen und personellen Organisation.
* Gewährleistung hoher Standards in der Organisationsführung (Governance) und Rechenschaftspflicht.
Anforderungen
Wir suchen eine Persönlichkeit, die unternehmerisches Denken und Handeln mit ausgeprägtem politischem Gespür und hoher Führungskompetenz verbindet.
* Unternehmerisches Denken: Freude am Aufbau und an der Weiterentwicklung neuer Initiativen, Flexibilität in sich wandelnden Umweltumfeldern und Fähigkeit, Chancen rasch zu nutzen.
* Politisch-gesellschaftliches Verständnis: Vertiefte Kenntnisse der politischen, institutionellen und kulturellen Landschaft der Schweiz.
* Führungserfahrung: Nachweisliche Erfahrung in der Leitung von Teams, im Aufbau von Organisationen oder Initiativen sowie in der Gestaltung einer kooperativen und verantwortungsbewussten Organisationskultur.
* Öffentliches Engagement: Erfahrung in der Konzeption und Umsetzung von Projekten, die Gemeinschaften mobilisieren oder öffentliche Debatten anregen.
* Partnerschaftskompetenz: Ausgeprägte kommunikative Fähigkeiten und die Fähigkeit, Vertrauen mit vielfältigen Stakeholdern in Gemeinden, Institutionen und bei Geldgebern aufzubauen.
* Fundraising-Erfahrung: Gute Kenntnisse der schweizerischen Förder- und Stiftungsszene sowie Sicherheit in der Pflege von Beziehungen zu Geldgebenden und Partnerinstitutionen.
* Sprachen: Deutsch oder Französisch auf muttersprachlichem Niveau, solide Kenntnisse der jeweils anderen Sprache; sehr gute Englischkenntnisse.

Présentation du poste
Terra Nostra recherche une directrice ou un directeur exécutif pour diriger l’organisation et renforcer sa présence, ses partenariats et son impact.
Ce poste s’adresse à une personnalité à l’aise avec la création et le développement d’organisations et d’initiatives dès leur phase initiale. La personne retenue devra être à l’aise dans un environnement dynamique, capable de fixer des priorités, de naviguer dans des contextes politiques complexes et de développer des partenariats entre les différents secteurs de la société suisse.
La directrice ou le directeur exécutif jouera un rôle central dans la définition de la stratégie de Terra Nostra, la mise en place de partenariats et la croissance de l’organisation pour en faire un acteur crédible et influent dans le paysage environnemental et sociétal suisse.
Principales responsabilités
Leadership stratégique
* Définir et mettre en œuvre une stratégie claire et ambitieuse, alignée avec la mission de Terra Nostra et en cohérence avec le réseau Our Common Home.
* Identifier et développer des initiatives à fort impact, à l’échelle locale et nationale.
Développement organisationnel
* Structurer et faire évoluer Terra Nostra en tant qu’organisation, en construisant son identité, sa gouvernance et sa culture.
* Recruter, encadrer et développer une équipe à mesure de la croissance de l’organisation.
Construction de la communauté et du partenariat
* Établir et entretenir des relations de confiance avec des acteurs locaux, des organisations partenaires et des leaders d’opinion.
* Développer des collaborations permettant de toucher des publics aujourd’hui peu engagés dans les enjeux environnementaux.
Collecte de fonds et mobilisation des ressources
* Développer et piloter une stratégie de financement en Suisse, en s’adressant aux fondations, aux donateurs philanthropes et aux partenaires institutionnels.
* Assurer la viabilité financière de Terra Nostra et du réseau plus large de Our Common Home.
Représentation publique
* Représenter Terra Nostra dans les débats publics, les médias et les événements.
* Contribuer à un dialogue constructif entre des publics aux sensibilités différentes.
Leadership opérationnel
* Assurer une gestion rigoureuse des ressources financières, humaines et opérationnelles.
* Garantir des standards élevés de gouvernance et de responsabilité.
Votre profil
Nous recherchons une personnalité qui allie dynamisme entrepreneurial à une forte conscience politique et à des capacités de leadership.
* Esprit d’entreprise : Capacité à lancer, structurer et développer des projets ou des organisations dans des environnements évolutifs.
* Sens politique et social : Bonne connaissance des dynamiques politiques, institutionnelles et culturelles suisses, avec une capacité à naviguer entre des sensibilités diverses.
* Expérience en matière de leadership : Expérience avérée dans la direction d’équipes, le développement d’organisations ou la conduite de projets complexes.
* Expérience en matière d’engagement du public : Expérience dans la conception d’initiatives visant à mobiliser des publics ou à influencer le débat public.
* Capacité à établir des partenariats : Excellentes compétences relationnelles et capacité à établir des relations de confiance avec des interlocuteurs variés.
* Expérience en collecte de fonds : Bonne connaissance du paysage philanthropique suisse et capacité à développer des relations avec des bailleurs de fonds.
* Langues : Français ou allemand langue maternelle, avec une bonne maîtrise de l’autre langue. Bonne maîtrise de l’anglais.

The opportunity
Terra Nostra is seeking an entrepreneur to lead the organisation and build its presence, partnerships, and impact.
This is a foundational leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building organisations and initiatives from the ground up. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, setting priorities, navigating complex political contexts, and developing partnerships across different sectors of Swiss society.
The Executive Director will play a central role in shaping Terra Nostra’s strategy, establishing partnerships, and ensuring the organisation grows into a credible and impactful actor within the Swiss environmental landscape.
Main responsibilities
Strategic leadership
* Define and implement Terra Nostra’s strategic direction while ensuring alignment with the broader mission of the OCH network
* Identify opportunities for impactful initiatives and partnerships at the local and national levels
Organisational development
* Build and develop Terra Nostra as an organisation, including its identity, its people, its culture and its governance
* Recruit, mentor, and lead a small and ambitious team as the organisation grows
Community and partnership building
* Develop strong relationships with community leaders, local actors, and organisations across Switzerland
* Engage with communities whose perspectives are often underrepresented in environmental discussions
Fundraising and resource development
* Lead fundraising efforts in Switzerland, engaging foundations, philanthropic donors, and institutional partners
* Contribute to the financial sustainability of both Terra Nostra and the wider Our Common Home network
Public representation
* Represent Terra Nostra in public discussions, events, and media related to environmental and societal issues
* Contribute to constructive dialogue across different sectors of Swiss society
Operational leadership
* Ensure effective management of financial, operational, and people-related processes
* Maintain high standards of organisational governance and accountability
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who combines entrepreneurial drive with strong political awareness and leadership capability.
* Entrepreneurial mindset: Comfortable building initiatives from the ground up, working in fast-moving environments, and adapting strategy as opportunities evolve.
* Political and societal awareness: Strong understanding of Switzerland’s political, institutional, and cultural landscape,Leadership experience: Demonstrated experience leading teams, building organisations or initiatives, and fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
* Public engagement experience: Experience designing and delivering initiatives that mobilise communities or influence public debate.
* Partnership-building ability: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders including community leaders, institutions, and funders.
* Fundraising experience: Familiarity with the Swiss philanthropic landscape and confidence in developing relationships with donors and partners.
* Languages: Native-level German or French, with good working knowledge of the other language. Strong English skills are required.
