TECHNICAL & QUALITY LEATHER SENIOR EXPERT
YOUR MAIN MISSIONS:
1. Ensure the smooth running of the AQC and the implementation of assigned projects.
2. Ensure chemical conformity of materials used in commercial productions and projects assigned by the Board.
3. Act as the Traceability Process Owner.
4. Support internal and external audits and certifications.
Mission 1: Ensure smooth operation of the association
* Participate in developing strategy and organization with statutory bodies, following established processes.
* Establish and ensure proper execution of the budget.
* Report to the Board on entrusted projects.
* Participate in and prepare meetings with team members, technical working groups, and the Board.
* Manage relations and contracts with external service providers.
* Develop external relations and represent the association and its members.
* Inform members and stakeholders about current and proposed regulatory requirements and their impacts.
Mission 2: Chemical Compliance
* Define test policies and control plans for all components and finished products.
* Oversee sampling, laboratory testing, report review, and database summarization.
* Manage non-conformities, investigations, and corrective actions.
* Monitor technical and regulatory developments, providing recommendations to members.
* Analyze brand requests from members.
* Define RoadMap objectives.
* Manage Supply Chain Mapping system and annual deliveries.
* Ensure regulatory and technological monitoring.
* Lead technical committees and participate in traceability projects.
Mission 4: Credibility
* Act as the Physical Test Harmonization and Standardization Process Owner, defining RoadMap objectives, leading harmonization efforts, and ensuring regulatory and technological monitoring.
* Support certification requirements development, including specifications and audit questionnaires.
* Update leather supplier evaluation rules and assessments annually, managing distribution of proofs like badges.
* Organize and conduct laboratory visits.
Knowledge & Know-how
* Advanced degree in science, preferably leather and/or chemistry.
* Excellent command of English and French; Italian is an advantage.
* Experience in team management, project coordination, and stakeholder negotiations.
* Strong organizational skills for meetings and events, with neat presentation skills.
* Understanding of legislative and regulatory aspects.
* Data management skills; familiarity with IT tools (database, no-code platforms like Make, Zapier, PowerAutomate, Python) is an advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of significant experience in leather and leather goods manufacturing, supply chain, or testing.
