We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Lead - Logistics Procurement Category Manager to join the Global Logistics Procurement Team in Zurich. Our team is responsible for procurement of inbound transportation, contract logistics, distribution/outbound, and other logistics services within the larger Global Supply Chain Team.
This role requires a professional capable of solving problems at scale, leading strategic sourcing projects—including strategy development, tendering, negotiation, data analysis, and business case presentations—and supporting operational teams with contract execution. The candidate should be comfortable driving procurement transformation for their category and collaborating with global and regional teams across various functions.
Your Mission Manage end-to-end category strategy to meet logistics goals through procurement of freight services and contract logistics.
Serve as senior management escalation point for recurring commercial and operational issues with logistics vendors.
Develop and execute a global sourcing roadmap for parcels, last mile, and courier services to achieve P&L savings and procurement value.
Contribute to strategic development and collaborate with internal and external partners.
Create procurement added value to enhance global logistics strategies focusing on cost, risks, and compliance.
Lead sourcing activities related to parcel (B2B and B2C) and outbound transportation, including requirements finetuning, analysis, awarding, and contract negotiations.
Work with Distribution and Logistics Teams to establish new procurement standards for outbound flows and collaborate on inbound transportation improvements.
Interact with internal stakeholders to support procurement transformation and build strong relationships.
Manage RFPs/bids, develop procurement requirements, and provide market intelligence and financial analysis.
Monitor logistics costs and advise on negotiations, corrective actions, and tenders.
Your Profile At least 6 years of experience in logistics procurement and strategic sourcing, especially in parcels/last mile transportation with significant freight spend.
Minimum 4 years managing transportation budgeting and contracting.
Experience with contract logistics procurement is a plus.
Proficient in Google tools and Microsoft Office, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, comfortable interfacing with senior management and suppliers.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead transformation initiatives with a strategic mindset.
Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
