The ideal candidate has knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtualization platforms, network and security best practices, and Cloud environments.
The position will report to the Head of Delivery within TinextCloud and will be based in our HQ in Morbio Inferiore.
In this role, you will be in charge of the following activities:
You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing Windows Server and Client systems, O365 and Exchange environments, VMware virtualization platforms, Storage environments, and related infrastructure. You will also provide support for activities related to VMware, Veeam, and Microsoft products as needed.
You will deliver high-quality solutions from inception to production, with a strong focus on automation, security, reliability, and manageability.
You will actively contribute to the continuous updating and maintenance of hardware and software platforms, ensuring alignment with best practices in security and performance, including firewall operations (e.g., FortiGate).
You will participate in hardware installations and system startup activities, ensuring seamless and secure deployments.
You will assist in onboarding new applications, provide advanced support to end-users when needed, and collaborate with project and application teams to implement and operate their solutions efficiently.
You will collaborate with internal and external partners, including project teams, vendors, and suppliers, with a focus on maintaining robust and secure operational standards.
You will ensure that comprehensive technical documentation is available and drive continuous operational improvements.
You will be involved in incident, change, and problem management processes, including advanced Service Desk activities (covering end-user devices such as PCs, printers, and telephony), prioritizing quick resolution and proactive measures to enhance system stability and user satisfaction.
You will contribute to the monitoring and automation of IT operations, where knowledge of RMM platforms (preferably NinjaONE) is considered an advantage.
Your Identikit At least 3+ years of professional experience as a System Engineer or Service Desk Engineer, with a focus on Windows Server and Client systems, O365, Exchange, VMware, basic knowledge of networking and security tools (e.g., Windows Defender, FortiGate Firewall).
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Client environments, Active Directory, O365, Exchange, VMware virtualization, and Veeam backup solutions.
Basic knowledge of firewalls (preferably FortiGate Firewall).
Experience with Linux system administration and container-based applications (e.g., Docker or Kubernetes) is considered a plus, but not mandatory.
Experience with RMM tools (preferably NinjaONE) is considered a plus, but not mandatory.
You hold one or more certifications, such as Azure Cloud, Microsoft, or Veeam certifications (considered a plus).
Familiarity with at least one ticketing platform is an advantage.
Experience in Service Desk activities, including support for end-user devices (PCs, printers, telephony), with focus on quick troubleshooting and user satisfaction.
You are passionate about technology, particularly security and open-source solutions, and you are driven by the desire to continuously explore and learn new tools and methodologies.
Fluent in both Italian and English.
A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with clients, balancing technical depth with clear explanations.
Detail-oriented and committed to delivering outstanding results while thriving under deadlines and shifting priorities.
You live in Switzerland or close to the Italian Swiss border or you are willing to relocate.
