Summary
Meetings and Events youth apprentices plan, promote, and service meetings, events, conferences, and conventions. Youth apprentices work with room layouts and seating formats, coordinating catering arrival, technology, and audio‑visual equipment. The youth apprentice creates a warm welcoming environment for everyone at the PLC.
Essential Responsibilities
* Connect with food vendors upon arrival to PLC
* Monitor Google Calendar and Forms to maintain a minimum of two week advance planning for upcoming events
* Set up for Meeting/Event by coordinating all necessary tasks (ie. room set up, food service, restocking beverages, etc.) with the Adult Transition Program and the Administrative Associate for Professional Learning
* Coordinate set up and tear down of food when an event is catered (ie. setting up tables for food lines, greeting caterers, using large trash receptacles, notifying custodians that food trash will be created, etc.)
* Coordinate with Adult Transition Program to inform of daily and weekly job opportunities (ie. table cleaning, table arrangement, battery recharging, whiteboard cleaning, etc.)
* Greet guests at the Welcome Center and provide answers to general questions from participants and facilitators.
* Use the Raptor Visitor Management System to check in guests and print visitor badges
* After an event, coordinate with custodial staff to plan for a room needing deeper cleaning prior to or after an event.
* During an event, provide customer service to the facilitator(s)/training partner(s) of the event. Create a Google Form to send to the facilitator(s)/training partner(s) after the event to get feedback on services.
