We are seeking a Gemmological Trainer with strong gemmological knowledge and a passion for gemstones, jewellery, and teaching. You will deliver training internationally, develop educational content, and share expertise with diverse audiences.
* Deliver gemmology courses at all levels, including international training (travel required)
* Develop and update teaching materials, presentations and learning resources aligned with industry standards
* Deliver Gem Talks, presentations, and workshops for external companies
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce gemmological content for communications, press materials, and publications
* Create digital content to enhance Academy visibility and marketing initiatives (social media, videos, promotional assets)
* Represent the company and build strong external relationships
* Support the development and curation of the Academy’s gemstone reference collection
* Contribute to museum exhibitions, educational projects and the Gübelin Archive
* Conduct private museum tours and workshops (if based in Switzerland)
* Support Academy strategy and international development
* Help build and maintain an active Academy community
* Assist with course administration, including registration, scheduling and materials preparation
Requirements
* Gemmological degree (GIA, FGA, DUG, or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in the gem or jewellery industry
* Experience in teaching, presenting, or client-facing roles
* Fluent in English (spoken and written)
* German and other languages are a plus
* Relevant academic background is an advantage
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Passion for gems and jewellery
* Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
* Independent, flexible, and willing to travel
* Culturally aware, reliable, and a team player
