Your Role & ResponsibilitiesDesign, integrate, operate, and continuously improve complex, partially safety-critical systems across IT, hardware, and embedded domainsDefine and manage system-level requirements, architectures, and interfacesAnalyse and model system behaviour through simulation, testing, and verification to ensure reliability and performanceCoordinate the integration of mechanical, electrical, software, and communication components into cohesive systemsEvaluate, document, and communicate system designs, security architectures, and interface conceptsParticipate in requirements engineering, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validationMediate and coordinate between technical, operational, and administrative stakeholdersIdentify technical risks and drive resolution of system-level issuesContribute to standardization, modularization, automation, and quality assurance across system boundariesSupport preparation of technical concepts, documentation, decision papers, and change-control reportsCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams (design, production, testing, IT operations)Job requirements
Required Technical & Professional ExpertiseSeveral years of experience as a System Engineer, Integration Engineer, or in a multidisciplinary engineering environment (IT, mechanical, embedded, mechatronic, or industrial systems)Strong understanding of system design principles, requirement management, and interface definitionBroad technical knowledge across server, network, communication, or security architecturesExperience in system integration, verification & validation of complex systems or prototypesKnowledge in virtualization, cloud, and containerization (e.g., VMware, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker)Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash)Familiarity with tools for system modelling or configuration management (e.g., SysML, CAD, Jira)Advantageous: experience with safety-critical, military, communication, or cryptographic systemsAbility to connect technical, operational, and organizational aspectsStrong analytical skills, structured working style, and proactive problem-solving mindsetDegree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical fieldCertifications in Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, or ITIL are an advantageExcellent communication skills in English; German is a strong plusWhy Join UsWork on forward-looking, security-relevant projects in both national and international contextsInterdisciplinary collaboration at the interface between technology, operations, and managementOpportunity to actively shape architectures and processesFlexible working models, modern tools, and a culture that fosters autonomy and accountability All doneYour application has been successfully submitted
