Job description
Summary
Control all aspects related to Linux system administration in the Colorado Springs and Austin EM offices, including remote users/sites as applicable with adherence to Group IT policies. Support Windows users via Active Directory configuration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain Linux servers and workstations on premises including hardware, software, and operating systems (physical and virtual)
2. Plan, coordinate, and execute Linux systems installations, upgrades and maintenance (patching)
3. Create and support user account setup using MS Active Directory
4. Provide help desk support for end-users, account setup and maintenance. Debug issues (HW/SW), network/VPN connectivity, App installation and troubleshooting
5. Monitor and resolve system performance issues
6. Specify and order laptops for end users, simulation servers, peripherals, and supplies
7. Install, configure, and deploy end-user HW, SW, printers, OS, applications, and patches
8. Maintain software licensing, subscriptions, IT inventory, and documentation.
9. Maintenance of a variety of EDA tools, design kits, and support libraries in collaboration with EM HQ CAD and Linux support team
10. Coordinate with SGIT to ensure simulation servers have appropriate Backup/Restore capability. Support SGIT with any disaster recovery/continuity testing
11. Coordinate and collaborate with EM HQ IT and Swatch Group IT as needed.
