Job Description: Database Administrators & Specialists 100% (m/w/d) – Remote & hybrid
For a leading energy provider we are looking for SQL Database Specialists, Senior SQL Database Specialist (Ref. Nrs.: 924313DO / 924319DO / 924321DO). The engagements are 12-months contracts, primarily remote or hybrid (preferred hubs: Switzerland and Madrid). The successful candidate must be willing and able to work on-site in Switzerland or Spain for roughly one week every five weeks.
1. Database Specialist – Microsoft SQL Server (80–100%)
Tasks:
• Operate, manage and support Microsoft SQL Server environments (on-prem & Azure)
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement preventive measures
• Support migrations from on-prem to Azure
• Work closely with developers and operations on database-related topics
Required Skills:
• 3–5+ years experience with SQL Server in production environments
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, HA/DR (e.g. Always On)
• Familiarity with BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)
• Automation experience (PowerShell / DBATools)
2. Senior Database Specialist – Microsoft SQL Server (100%)
Tasks:
• Lead the design and improvement of SQL Server platforms (on-prem & Azure)
• Own and resolve critical performance and availability incidents
• Mentor Dev and Ops teams on database architecture and practices
• Ensure reliability and efficiency of business-critical systems
Required Skills:
• 5–7+ years as SQL Server DBA in high-pressure environments (e.g. trading)
• Expertise in full-stack monitoring and tuning (network to DB)
• Strong understanding of DevOps, ITIL and service delivery
• Experience with Microsoft BI toolset and cloud migrations
3. Senior Database Specialist – PostgreSQL (Azure) & SQL Server (100%)
Tasks:
• Act as single point of contact for all PostgreSQL-on-Azure topics
• Define and implement best practices for PostgreSQL configuration and operation
• Operate PostgreSQL (Azure) and SQL Server environments
• Advise and coach teams across IT and business on database use
Required Skills:
• 5+ years experience with PostgreSQL (Azure) and SQL Server
• Proven experience in PostgreSQL setup, tuning and migration
• Familiarity with HA/DR concepts, performance optimization and automation
• Exposure to BI tools and DevOps practices
Languages:
• English fluent written and spoken (corporate language)
