Job Summary Omya is seeking a visionary Head ofResearch & Development Services to lead a global team ofscientific experts and drive innovation across disciplines such asmaterial science, surface and aqueous chemistry, mineral sciences,and biology. This role is instrumental in shaping Omya's scientificreputation and future readiness through leadership, strategiccollaboration, and impactful research. As a key member of theR&D Leadership Team, the successful candidate will define andexecute a forward-looking strategy, foster a high-performing andagile organization, and position R&D Services as a cornerstoneof Omya's innovation ecosystem. Responsibilities StrategicDirection and Execution - Develop and implement a global strategyfor R&D Services aligned with Omya's Horizon framework andinnovation goals. - Build state-of-the-art scientific capabilitiesto support cross-functional innovation and manufacturing. -Represent Omya as a thought leader through publications,conferences, and contributions to the corporate patent portfolio. -Position the department and team members as the globally recognizedpartner and thought leader in the defined scientific areas. - Shapeand execute strategic initiatives as part of the global R&DLeadership Team. People Management & Leadership - Providestrategic direction and leadership to team members also insituations of high uncertainty. - Responsible for the coordinationand alignment of the R&D Services groups in all R&DTechnology Centers. - Identify and develop future R&D leaders,fostering a culture of agility, excellence, and proactive businesspartnering. - Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing acrossthe global R&D network. External Engagement & Partnerships- Strengthen relationships with external experts, institutions, andecosystems relevant to Omya's scientific focus. - Drive jointinitiatives that expand Omya's innovation capabilities and globalreach. Communication & Reputation - Champion internal andexternal communication to reinforce Omya's position as aninnovation leader. - Actively contribute to enhancing the company'svisibility and credibility in the scientific community.
