Cititec has partnered with a leading Commodities firm seeking a Risk Manager to join a growing Commodities Risk Management function based in Geneva. Reporting to senior risk leadership, this role offers a unique opportunity to help build and scale a global commodities platform by delivering a clear, holistic, and forward-looking view of commodity risk to management.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the establishment and expansion of the Geneva office and will act as a trusted partner to the commodity trading desks.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, scale, and execute risk capabilities to support business growth, including the implementation and enhancement of new risk systems
* Develop and maintain Python-based tools and analytics within the risk library
* Proactively communicate commodity-specific risks to non-commodity risk teams and integrate cross-asset risk insights
* Take a hands-on approach across the full spectrum of commodity risk activities
* Onboard new commodity markets and products and establish appropriate risk frameworks
Requirements
* Experience in commodities risk management, with exposure to physical crude oil and refined products
* Experience building risk frameworks and systems for a greenfield physical trading operation
* Solid understanding of benchmark methodologies, physical market fundamentals, and trading strategies
* Proficiency in Python, SQL and Excel, including libraries such as pandas, numpy, and data visualisation tools
* Strong knowledge of risk and performance metrics, including VaR and stress testing
