Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Hiring Team is seeking an onsite Process & Automation Scientist in Münchwilen, Switzerland.
Role Purpose
As a Process & Automation Scientist, you will support the development and uptake of new process technologies in PTNAI while developing automation workflows for experimental data generation and analysis. Additionally, you will support modelling activities to enhance research capabilities.
Accountabilities
Ensuring the required HSE standards are applied.
Maintaining documentation to capture project results and requirements.
Analyzing and reporting the outcome of complex experiments.
Developing and providing scientific/technical innovation and expertise in the area of new technologies (continuous chemistry, photochemistry, electrochemistry…) and automation.
Committing to develop and maintain skills in programming/automation.
Learning and developing independently through studies of technical and patent literature, site visits, attendance at seminars, training courses, etc.
Contributing to innovation and improvement to the overall performance of the Process Science Team and PTNAI department as a whole.
Being active in maintaining a network within the company related to automation, modelling and new technologies.
Qualifications
A Master degree in chemical engineering, life science, ideally with a specialization and/or some experience in automation.
Fluency in English. German and French are advantageous.
Good communication skills coupled with the ability to see trends and simplify complex information.
Understanding / practical experience in flow chemistry / continuous processing.
Foundation in algorithmic and programming, preferably in Python.
Sound knowledge in physical organic chemistry.
