The position
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and advance Key Account Management in Region EAST, ensuring a unified customer experience and broad, rapid patient access. The role centers on developing and executing Key Account strategies across the full portfolio—leveraging crossfunctional insights, securing timely formulary inclusion, cocreating initiatives that enhance care pathways, and building strong relationships with key hospital and procurement stakeholders.
Tasks & responsibilities
* As the primary coordinator, lead the development and execution of assigned Key Account plans, in close collaboration with Asset Teams and FieldForce (Medical and Sales)
* Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to understand potential, pressure and the holistic needs of the accounts; derive meaningful actions based on these insights
* Prepare and deliver compelling business cases to secure timely formulary inclusion and maximize uptake of BI medicines
* Identify and co-create initiatives with accounts that optimize care pathways and improve patient outcomes, supporting evidence generation
* Builds trustful relationships with key accounts through ongoing collaboration centered on improving patient outcomes and delivering joint value for the customer and Boehringer Ingelheim by ensuring patients and HCPs have access to treatment options
Requirements
* At least 8 years in pharmaceutical sales, market access, or key account management
* Strong knowledge of Swiss healthcare system, hospital procurement, reimbursement processes, in combination with a strong network with accounts in region EAST
* Very strong negotiations and communication skills, coupled with the ability to develop clear and crisp account plans
* Matrix leadership and x-functional mindset: coordinate with various internal teams and operate across different Business Units to deliver a unified customer experience
* Proven track record of successful development and implementation of multi-stakeholder projects in the healthcare setting
* Proficiency in German and English; French and Italian are considered a plus
Boehringer Ingelheim Switzerland:
* This is a field-based role in Region EAST - a valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within Switzerland is required
* Nevertheless, a strong collaboration with the office-based colleagues as well as regular presence in the office of Boehringer Ingelheim Switzerland in Basel is expected
