Your role:
As an Application & Process Engineer at noriware, you will play a key role in the practical development, testing, and optimization of our material processing and prototyping workflows. Your expertise will ensure efficient material compounding, extrusion, and film production while you design, build and evaluate new systems using CAD systems, advanced manufacturing techniques. Collaborating closely with our internal R&D and external partners, you will enable smooth scale-up and industrial implementation of our novel materials and processes.
Your tasks:
* Conduct trials and optimize production processes on compounders, extruders, and film lines for seaweed-based biopolymers.
* Design, build, and test prototypes, evaluate performance, and refine designs based on test results using CAD and additive manufacturing technologies.
* Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing processes to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
* Implement and monitor process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
* Coordinate and communicate technical requirements and schedules with external partners
* Support scale-up projects, ensuring smooth transition between lab-scale development and pilot production.
* Generate detailed technical documentation including process parameters, test reports, user manuals and maintenance guides.
* Supporting the integration of new technologies and machines into the existing infrastructure.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, polymer science, or a related field.
* Proven professional experience with polymer processing equipment such as extruders, compounders, and film production lines, ideally with bio-based or sustainable materials.
* Experience in the processing of polysaccharides is an advantage.
* Hands-on experience in prototype development including CAD design and 3D printing.
* Strong problem solving skillset with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
* Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative startup environment.
* Excellent communication skills for effective cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
* Passion for sustainability and advancing bio-based material technologies.
