VAT is the globally leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance vacuum valves, multi-valve units, vacuum modules, and edge-welded metal bellows.
YOUR CHALLENGES
Responsibilities
The manufacturing of a high-end microchip requires over 1000 production steps. Vacuum valves are considered a critical component as they are in proximity to the semiconductor wafer and impact process performance. Semiconductor fabs like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC have increasing expectations for productivity and yield. These fabs are increasingly using data generated during manufacturing to improve performance. Smart, connected vacuum components are essential for smart semiconductor manufacturing, enabling predictive maintenance and increased productivity. To develop this smart valve technology, we are seeking an experienced development engineer passionate about sensors and vacuum technology. Your responsibilities include:
Development and characterization of sensors for gas flow delivery and process control technology.
Assessment of gas sensing technologies, both practical and theoretical.
Setting up and validating prototypes of sensors, hybrid systems, and gas control systems.
Assembly and maintenance of experimental setups, including automated data collection.
Designing, executing, and documenting experiments (DoE) with organized results.
Collaborating with technology partners and universities.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD) in physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of gas concentration measurement techniques, sensors, and their applications in vacuum/plasma processing.
Proven experience in developing concepts and prototyping complex systems.
Background in semiconductor-related vacuum technology and/or gas analytical techniques is advantageous.
Experience in scripting (Python) for data processing is essential.
Experience with modeling tools (e.g., Matlab, COMSOL) is desirable.
Practical, systematic approach, creative problem-solver with good communication skills.
