The Opportunity
We are seeking an operationally‑minded Accounting Manager to lead our transactional finance team. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives on creating structure and driving operational excellence within a fast‑paced international environment.
As a specialist in process optimization, you will not only manage the day‑to‑day accounting activities but also act as an architect for financial frameworks that ensure precision and scalability. You will be a key partner to the finance leadership, ensuring that our accounting engine runs with maximum efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Direct and manage a team of 5‑7 accountants focused on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Collections. Your goal is to establish high standards of performance and implement robust operational KPIs.
Financial Reporting & GL: Take full ownership of the General Ledger (GL) for specific Swiss entities, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss standards.
Strategic Deputization: Serve as the primary backup for the Head of Accounting, providing high‑level support on technical accounting matters and operational decisions.
Process Transformation: Continuously evaluate and improve existing accounting workflows. You will play a leading role in enhancing efficiency and preparing the team for future collaboration with international shared service centers.
Your Professional Profile
Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting. A Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accountancy (Fachausweis) or equivalent is highly preferred.
Experience: A solid professional background with a clear history of career development in permanent roles. You should have a proven track record of managing teams within a transactional finance environment.
Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Swiss GAAP and the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).
Systems & Mindset: Highly proficient in modern ERP systems (experience with Workday is a significant advantage). You possess a mindset focused on continuous improvement and the automation of manual processes.
Communication: Fluent English is essential for this international scope. Professional proficiency in German and/or French is a strong asset.
