We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Career Counsellor (in charge of events) to join our Career Services Department. This department supports student employability and enhances Les Roches’ global reputation. The Career Counsellor will guide students through their career journey, organize career events, develop employer relationships, and source opportunities worldwide. The ideal candidate will provide personalized support, fostering career development and preparing students for success in the hospitality industry. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for occasional weekends, extra hours, and travel.
Start date: 1 September 2025.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide career counseling, including CV/cover letter reviews, interview coaching, and professional guidance.
2. Develop career opportunities for diverse student groups.
3. Collaborate with a multicultural team to achieve departmental goals.
4. Manage career events, building relationships with employers and external partners.
5. Plan and organize career-related events and assist with other school events.
6. Attract and manage employer partnerships for Career Days and other events.
7. Represent Career Services at internal and external events.
8. Handle administrative tasks, such as updating databases and managing internships.
9. Contribute to social media content for the department’s platforms.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and share relevant information with students, faculty, and staff.
11. Support the development of departmental policies and ensure confidentiality.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Human Resources, Event Management, or a related field.
2. Relevant work experience in hospitality (maximum 5 years), with a proven track record of organizing large-scale events (1000+ attendees) in an international setting.
3. Experience in recruitment or job placement is a plus; experience in education or training is beneficial.
4. In-depth knowledge of the global hospitality industry and market trends; proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with career tools and presentations.
5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
6. Fluency in English required; additional languages like French, German, Spanish, or Chinese are a plus.
7. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate in a multicultural team.
8. Passion for working with students, delivering group sessions, and organizing career activities.
