Position:
Join the Turbomachinery Integration department within gas turbine business in Baden, Switzerland and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ansaldo Energia products.
Your tasks
Provide mechanical integrity solutions and lifetime predictions of gas turbine structural parts, rotor and casings
Iterate closely with other functional gas turbine teams like Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Clearance, Design, Manufacturing and Lifetime Extension to ensure parts meet static and dynamic criteria
Issue and check technical reports and prepare design review material
Capture lessons learned and ensure the integration of field feedback into the design
Support manufacturing process development by providing technical expertise
Issue nonconformity resolutions with Quality and design teams
Conduct failure analysis and provide technical feedback to field operation findings
Issue Lifetime Extension specifications
Prepare and support material, part, spin pit and engine tests and validation.
Requirements:
Your profile
Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably dealing with rotor structural assessments
Experience in state-of-the-art 3D finite element modelling (ideally ANSYS)
Sound knowledge of thermal/structural mechanics, rotor and structural dynamics and physics of materials
Understanding of gas and steam turbine fundamentals
Fluency in English, Italian &/or German language skills are a plus
Open-minded, analytical and target-oriented team player able to work in a multicultural environment
Creative, thorough and independent with good communication skills
Availability to travel 15% of the time, worldwide.
