Overview
Description Flow Cytometry Specialist – Pharma Sector (Basel). On behalf of our client in the pharmaceutical industry, we are currently hiring a Flow Cytometry Specialist to join a cutting-edge research environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in flow cytometry workflows, including sample preparation, troubleshooting, and assay development. This role is embedded within a dynamic matrix team, supporting drug discovery efforts across multiple therapeutic areas and contributing to the ongoing development of a state-of-the-art Flow Cytometry Technology Platform.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and support daily instrument quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting across a range of flow cytometry equipment.
* Train and assist users in operating flow cytometry instruments and cell sorters (e.g., BD Fortessa, Symphony A5, Cytek Aurora, BD FACSAria Fusion).
* Collaborate with scientists to design innovative flow cytometry strategies and support data analysis and interpretation.
* Lead complex experiments, optimize sample preparation, and ensure high-quality data generation.
* Contribute to training programs on theoretical and practical aspects of flow cytometry and associated software.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies through continuous learning and engagement with scientific literature.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a flow cytometry core facility or advanced research setting.
* Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of flow cytometry instrumentation, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality control.
* Proficiency in experimental design and data analysis using software such as FlowJo, OMIQ, or similar.
* Hands-on experience with fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS).
* Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in advanced flow cytometry applications.
