We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Trader | Sugar to support our trading operations in Geneva. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a leading sugar trading desk and contribute directly to the performance and efficiency of physical and derivative trading activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain comprehensive P&L tracking tools for individual trades and the overall sugar trading portfolio.
• Develop regular performance and risk reports, in close collaboration with controlling and operations teams, to support high standards of visibility and control.
• Support the creation of automated position reporting (physical and derivatives) in coordination with planning and trading teams.
• Act as the Sugar Trading System Expert (TPT), driving improvements in usage and functionality across teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and upgrade trading and reporting systems.
• Closely monitor the execution of physical shipments, coordinating with planning, operations, logistics, freight, and controlling teams.
• Flag operational risks and potential delays to traders to ensure seamless execution.
• Support the validation of trades and ensure they are entered into the relevant systems.
Desired Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in commodities trading, trade support, or middle office functions.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of trading systems (TPT or similar) is a plus.
