Job DescriptionThe Quality Control Microbiological Laboratory Technician plays an essential role in the laboratory’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that the activities assigned to the microbiological laboratory are carried out within the established timelines and in compliance with procedures. The Quality Control Microbiological Laboratory Technician will report to the Quality Control Microbiological Laboratory Responsible.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct environmental monitoring (air, surfaces, and particle monitoring) in classified areasConduct microbiological analyses (bioburden testing, sterility testing, and LAL testing using kinetic-chromogenic and gel-clot methods)Perform sampling and microbiological analysis of plant utilities (water, steam, compressed gases)Perform microbiological analysis of raw materialsPerform sub-visible particle count testing on finished productsPerform microbial identificationExecute incoming testing of laboratory materials in use (GPT, bioindicator population, etc.)Execute method validations for LAL testing, sterility testing, and bioburden testingCarry out sampling and analyses required for process validation and cleaning validation activitiesIssue and complete laboratory documentation, ensuring accuracy and correctness (logbooks, protocols, and reports)Ensure maintenance, cleaning, and efficiency of laboratory equipment and facilitiesActively participate in audits
Qualifications And SkillsDegree in Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (CTF), or related disciplinesAt least 5 years of experience in Microbiological Quality Control within the pharmaceutical industryKnowledge of LIMS systems (preferred) and SAPAccuracy, reliability and a strong sense of responsibilityAbility to work independently and a proactive attitudeContinuous improvement mindsetGood knowledge of the English language; knowledge of French will be considered an asset
