Due to the growth at our site in Visp, we are currently looking for Manufacturing Specialists for our Ibex-facility. In this role, you will be responsible for executing operational activities of assigned manufacturing in specific areas (Upstream (USP), Downstream (DSP) or Buffer Media and Production Support (BMS) processing) for a large scale 6x20kL Scale Drug Substance Mammalian facility.
Key accountabilities and duties
* Responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of manufacturing campaigns in the area of mammalian cell culture.
* Leads multi-disciplinary project teams as Functional Lead for all manufacturing aspects of assigned products.
* Responsible for preparing and executing SHE, EM, operation and cleaning risk analysis for the assigned products and implementing and controlling defined measures.
* Establish timely and qualitative production documentation specific to the assigned production area.
* Ensure state-of-the-art regulatory requirements are implemented in corresponding assets and products.
* Perform manufacturing activities according to cGMP guidelines, ensuring batch execution, evaluating test results, resolving issues, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, and making recommendations for resolution.
* Work as a production expert in capital investment projects for building and commissioning of the manufacturing units. Main responsibility for delivering all input required for the specific set-up, commissioning, and qualification of the manufacturing suites and equipment, including automation.
* Implement relevant GMP documents for the respective area.
* Train operators for the manufacturing of the assigned products.
* Support Plant Manager and Head Manufacturing Staff in training and planning tasks.
* Represent Lonza Manufacturing unit during customer audits and visits.
* Execute innovation and improvement projects comprising general manufacturing aspects for the production plant.
* Ensure a high level of technical and process standardization within the production plant.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills required
* Bachelor/Master Degree.
* Preferred area of study: Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related disciplines.
* Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering, preferably in the area of Mammalian cell culture.
* Fluent in both German and English.
* GMP understanding.
* Strong leadership skills; very good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within the organization.
* Strong team orientation.
* Structured, focused, and well-organized working attitude; open-minded for new ideas and suggestions.
* High motivation and dynamic drive; solution-oriented.
