The Engineering Department pushes the limits of technology to enable physicists to conduct their research. Within the Electrical Engineering group of the EN department, you will join the Design and Documentation Office (DDO), responsible for delivering electrical designs and managing the database and documentation of the evolving transmission and distribution networks.

Functions
As an Electrical Technician in the Maintenance and Operation section, you will maintain and operate CERN's high and low voltage electrical network. Your responsibilities include:
* Operating the electrical network (lockouts, switching equipment, reconfiguration)
* Performing troubleshooting, repairs, and documenting activities
* Conducting regular inspections to ensure reliability and safety
* Serving as the contact point for users connected to the network
* Supervising preventive and corrective maintenance activities
* Contributing to electrical projects: participating in meetings, defining technical solutions, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of installations
* Organizing small electrical works: assessing needs, defining solutions, supervising contractors, and commissioning
* Maintaining accurate records of activities and issues
* Participating in standby duties, including nights, Sundays, and holidays
Qualifications
Technical certificate or secondary education, or equivalent experience in Electricity or related fields. The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in operating and maintaining high and low voltage electrical equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs
* Knowledge of electrical equipment associated with high and low voltage networks
* Experience supervising third-party work on site (asset)
* Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (asset)
* Experience with electrical circuit construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance
* Skills in organization, planning, and supervision of works
* Ability to work effectively in teams and autonomously
* Strong communication skills for documenting procedures and decisions
* Results-oriented approach and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
Language skills: Proficiency in English or French (spoken and written), with willingness to learn the other language.
