We are actively seeking a dynamic and charismatic
BUSINESS CONTROLLER
to play a pivotal role driving financial performance and strategic decision-making by partnering with department heads for accurate financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while fostering a culture of financial acumen across the organization.

* Support the Senior Finance & Business Intelligence Manager and CFO in elaborating the budget & Long-Term Business Plans, analysing financial & business performances, identifying risk and opportunities, and complying with financial processes.
* Support Department heads in making sound strategic, financials & operational decisions and in efficiently allocating financial resources by providing fact-based analysis.
* Support management in the financial modelling of new projects & innovations.
Business co-piloting & planning
* Support departments in monthly revenue and cost tracking and provide detailed reports to management.
* Track performance against budget, identify risks and opportunities, and drive initiatives to mitigate the risks, including variance analysis and accruals.
* Conduct recurring dynamic forecasting over the year.
* Create and monitor financial and non-financial KPIs and create regular reporting using dashboards.
* Collaborate with department heads to develop and refine long-term business strategies and support decision-making through robust financial modelling and analysis.
* Collaborate with departments in developing and analysing data and financial models.
* Conduct pre-and post-investment evaluations to ensure adequate returns and drive continuous improvement.
* Enhance financial literacy across the organization through training and proactive collaboration.
Operational performance & compliance
* Generate initiatives to streamline operations & support in their implementation.
* Drive standardization of financial & business reporting using Volleyball World’s ERP & FP&A tools.
* Support department heads and their teams in complying with the financial processes (closing, forecasting, compliance, procurement, payment, sales, cash collection, audits, and internal control).
* Support in drafting and implementing standardized financial calendar and control policies.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Experience 3-5 years in working in business controlling/audit roles.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
* Presentation and financial modelling skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with Abacus and / or Planful is a plus.
* Excellent business acumen with a strategic mindset.
* Exceptional communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with C-level management.
* Quick learner with a can-do attitude, self-motivated, and resilient under pressure.
* Persuasive and capable of influencing decision-making across all levels of the organization.
* Very well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and drive actionable outcomes.
* Team player with empathy and strong relationship-building skills.
* Growth-oriented, open to feedback, and committed to continuous personal and professional improvement.
Application Requirements
* Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages are an advantage.
* Experience in the sports industry is a plus but not required.
* Swiss citizenship or possession of a valid Swiss work permit.
