Founded in Switzerland, Chaberton Professionals is the Management Recruitment division of Chaberton Partners, specializing in the search and selection of middle and senior management profiles. For the past seven years, we have reinforced our Swiss presence with key offices in Lugano, Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, and Bern, supported by our team of 230 experienced Consultants and Board Members.

The position:

Our client is a Swiss privately-owned company with headquarter in Lausanne, and a global leader in the medical device industry.

We are currently supporting them in the search for an Accounting Lead who will join the finance team based at the HQ in Lausanne. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the person will support the company's growth and its strategic initiatives beyond traditional business models. The perimeter of the role englobes 7 entities, including production sites internationally (in US GAAP and in local GAAP).

The Accounting Lead will ensure the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records by executing end-to-end transactional accounting (AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, intercompany), completing scheduled reconciliations, and enforcing compliance with Group policies, Swiss statutory requirements. The role safeguards corporate assets, enables data-driven decision making, and drives continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls and systems within an international environment.

Main responsibilities:

* Transactional Accounting & Reconciliations
* Oversee Procure-to-Pay activities: Review P2P Specialist work - including prepayments, prepaid expenses, CAPEX invoices, FA/IA invoices, and inventory related postings
* Intercompany management: Book and reconcile intercompany invoices (Opex & Tracie); perform monthly balance confirmations with affiliates and Swiss entities.
* Bank & credit-card reconciliations: Coordinate GL-to-bank reconciliations and process UBS electronic credit-card statements, including exception follow-up.

Fixed Assets & Inventory Control

* Asset accounting: Manage monthly and quarterly FA/IA processes - review depreciation runs, assist in closing-package reconciliations, and maintain master-data integrity.
* Inventory oversight: Reconcile inventory balances against warehouse stock reports and align ERP inventory module with the G/L; coordinate monthly production reconciliations with Supply Chain.

Month-End Close & Reporting

* Closing deliverables: Ensure all transactions are posted timely and accurately; prepare and submit the Monthly Closing Report to the CAM and CFO.
* Transfer pricing & intercompany interest: Calculate, document, and distribute TP and intercompany interest entries to affiliates for booking.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

* External audit support: Under CAM supervision, manage PBC list, facilitate audit inquiries, and prepare Financial Statements.
* VAT & regulatory filings: Assist with multi-entity Swiss VAT returns and uphold compliance with internal policies, Swiss statutory requirements, and group controls.
* ERP & process enhancements: Collaborate on testing and validating new accounting flows; drive department workflow optimizations (e.g., automation, reporting dashboards).
* Policy enforcement: Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
* At least 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
* Proven experience in an international environment is required.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS or Swiss GAAP).
* Proficiency in ERP systems (Navision / Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred).
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
* Solid understanding of Swiss VAT and tax compliance.
* Experience with intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and audit processes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
* Proactive attitude toward process improvement and systems enhancement.

Location: Lausanne (hybrid model with 2 Home-Office per week)
