Job Description
Your Mission 💡
As a Domain Architect for the Ricardo Platform, part of the General Marketplace Business Unit, you will own and evolve the architectural vision of Switzerland’s leading online auction marketplace. This is a high-impact role where you will shape the future of a platform handling close to CHF 1 billion in transactions annually.
You’ll translate business strategy into scalable technical design, help teams implement architectural best practices, and ensure cohesion across contexts like listing, selling, buying, and payments.
We’re on a journey to modernise a beloved platform — and we need your expertise to guide it.
Specifically, you will:
3. Design and evolve the Ricardo domain architecture using Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
4. Define subdomain structures and ensure architectural coherence across teams
5. Translate business goals into a long-term technical roadmap
6. Collaborate with Team Architects, Engineering Managers, and Product Leads to align strategy and delivery
7. Lead domain-wide modernisation initiatives such as authentication revamps or event-driven architecture
8. Evaluate new technologies, run PoCs, and introduce innovations that improve developer experience and system scalability
9. Promote a culture of learning by mentoring engineers and facilitating architectural workshops

Qualifications
What will you bring to the ride? 🚀
10. Significant experience in software architecture roles, ideally within large-scale platforms
11. Strong foundation in Domain-Driven Design and building decoupled systems
12. Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native tech (preferably GCP, Google Cloud Platform), microservices, and distributed systems
13. Strategic mindset and ability to align technical direction with business goals
14. Excellent communicator who can drive consensus across teams and stakeholders
15. Passion for mentoring and raising architectural maturity across the organisation
