As Senior Data Editor in Zurich’s Editorial & Thought Leadership Team, you blend the precision of quantitative analysis with the art of storytelling. You turn complex datasets and modelling results into clear, engaging narratives that inform, influence, and inspire a wide range of audiences—from executives to customers. Your deep expertise in analytics and your editorial instincts ensure Zurich’s insights are both rigorous and relevant.
What you will do
1. Discover and communicate the stories hidden in data, translating quantitative findings into narratives that resonate and spark action.
2. Develop thought leadership content (articles, reports, multimedia) that showcases Zurich’s expertise and insights in an accessible way.
3. Tailor messaging for different audiences, ensuring technical concepts are clearly explained for both specialists and the general public.
4. Lead the development of visual storytelling assets using Flourish and other Zurich-approved tools to enhance understanding and engagement.
5. Apply advanced analytics and modelling techniques (using tools such as R, Python, SQL, or equivalent) to identify trends, test hypotheses, and generate actionable insights.
6. Work cross-functionally with data scientists, communicators, and business leaders to shape and deliver impactful narratives.
What you bring
7. Strong proficiency in data analytics, quantitative modelling, and statistical analysis (using R, Python, SQL, or equivalent)
8. Experience developing visualizations with Flourish or similar narrative-driven tools
9. Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Journalism and 7+ years relevant work experience in related field
10. Exceptional creative writing and engaging communication skills
11. Ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful stories for varied audiences
12. Data literacy and analytical thinking, with high accuracy and attention to detail
13. Experience crafting editorial content for business audiences
