The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the financial activities of the hotel, ensuring assets are protected and financial reports meet established standards.
This role involves working closely with hotel management to analyze financial data, monitor sales and expenses, and prepare forecasts and budgets as required. The successful candidate will also be responsible for establishing and auditing internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, and disbursements.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Governance: Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses of the hotel; Prepare, review, and present the Monthly Financial Report;
* Payroll Compliance: Ensure payroll practices adhere to Fair Labor Standards Act requirements;
* Contract Oversight: Oversee contracts and agreements, and assist hotel management in maintaining licenses, permits, insurance, and contracts;
* Internal Controls: Establish and audit internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, and disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and associate time records;
* Sustainability: Implement sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program;
* Workplace Safety: Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards;
* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested by management;
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance;
* 5 to 10 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry;
