Design, Build and Launch Switzerland’s Next Bi-Liquid Rocket to 9km: HERMES II
ARIS’s next-generation bi-liquid vehicle will soon begin development, a system leveraging the lessons of HERMES to push for maximum altitude and recovery precision in the 9km liquid category at EuRoC 2026. Featuring liquid propulsion, guided recovery, and optimized mass components, this project will push the integration and performance boundaries of student rocketry under the 40’960 Ns limit.
The Role: Structures Subsystem
As part of the Structures Subsystem, you’ll be responsible for the rocket’s primary airframe and structural architecture. Your role includes mechanical design, FEA simulations, composite manufacturing, and integration of all flight‑critical interfaces. From motor mounting to avionics bay to the engine plate, this team ensures every component is safely housed, strong under load, and light enough to fly.
The Role: Test Bench Team
As part of the Test Bench Team, you’ll design and build the test infrastructure to run our engine safely for the generations to come. You’ll integrate sensors, automate data collection, ensure safety logic works, and build ground systems like LOx/ETH/N2 supply, ignition circuits, and thermal shielding. If you like safety, diagnostics, and flames, this is your team.
