Configuration Manager - Accelerators and FCC Study
CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, is seeking a Configuration Manager to join the Accelerators and Technology Sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuration management and layout of the FCC Study, ensuring coherence between different databases and engineering tools, and traceability of equipment changes.
Introduction
The Accelerators and Technology Sector operates and exploits the whole accelerator complex, including the LHC, and develops new projects and technologies. The Engineering department provides CERN with engineering competences, infrastructure systems, and technical coordination required for the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and dismantling phases of the CERN accelerator complex and its experimental facilities.
Functions
* Develop and implement configuration management strategies and policies for one-of-a-kind accelerators.
* Identify configuration items with work package holders and equipment owners.
* Establish a coherent hardware baseline structure in the Engineering & Equipment Data Management System and monitor deviations between different baseline versions.
* Define and implement engineering change management and control processes.
* Maintain and update technical documentation of equipment and systems throughout their lifecycle.
* Define naming conventions for equipment types, engineering drawings, physical equipment, layout components, electrical circuits, and racks.
* Ensure registration and maintenance of codes and compliance with naming conventions using CERN tools.
* Maintain and update configuration management processes and related documentation.
* Handle conceptual beamlines layouts of CERN accelerators and transfer lines in the CERN Layout Database.
* Define and manage conceptual layouts drawings, ensuring quality and coherence according to the evolution of studies and different versions.
* Collaborate with the CERN Quality Assurance unit.
* Report and present configuration and layout activities in decisional bodies, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
* Oversee and coordinate the development of a comprehensive digital mock-up in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
* Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in configuration management and project management.
* Experience with PLM for CAD document management, SQL language, and relational databases.
* Knowledge of accelerators components, configuration and use of information management systems, project management, and expertise in office software packages.

Employment Conditions
* Contract type: Limited duration contract (5 years).
