Responsibilities
* Collaboration in preparing large conferences (OSCE, GESDA summit) and implementing the Science & Tech Diplomacy 2026 action plan.
* Collaboration in organizing the 2027 AI Summit in Geneva.
* Drafting notes, reports, and policy positions in the mentioned sectors (science, transport, space, digitalization, new technologies).
* Representing the section during specific sessions and events.
* Supporting other thematic areas as needed.
Qualifications and Attributes
* Master's degree.
* Strong interest in digitalization, new technologies, and contemporary issues related to sustainability, environment, or climate policy at national and international levels.
* Excellent written and oral knowledge of one official language, good command of a second official language and English.
* Solid analytical and editorial skills.
* Initiative spirit, autonomy in work, and good teamwork ability.
Program Summary
The university internship at the Prosperità e sostenibilità division of DFAE provides an opportunity to work in international digital and science policy in Switzerland, deepen specialist knowledge, and gain practical experience through collaboration with national and international partners.
About the Department
The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAE) coordinates and defines Switzerland’s foreign policy on behalf of the Federal Council, safeguards national interests, and promotes Swiss values. The State Secretariat (SES) manages the development, coordination, and planning of Swiss foreign policy, oversees information activities to political authorities, and heads the Swiss embassy network.
