Summary:
Hershey is seeking a Supplier Sustainable Relationship Management Lead to join the cocoa sustainability team at Hershey Trading GmbH. This role reports to the Sustainable Sourcing Manager SSRM and Human Rights. The primary responsibility is to support supplier management to ensure quality, consistency, and continuous improvement of interventions and data. The Lead will be part of the global Cocoa team.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Support the implementation of the Supplier Sustainability Relationship Management (SSRM) process to qualify, segment, monitor, and manage suppliers involved in Cocoa sustainability across various origins.
2. Lead the development of sustainable sourcing proposals, including negotiation and contracting, in collaboration with procurement.
3. Assist in developing and implementing Cocoa strategy in different origins, translating SSPM into actionable workplans.
4. Supplier Sustainability requirements. Collaborate with Sourcing and ESG teams to define priorities and translate them into supplier requirements, including developing program specifications and templates.
5. Ensure timely supplier reporting on performance metrics, surveys, and scorecards aligned with organizational priorities, in partnership with Data, Learning, and Assurance teams.
6. Financial management and transparency. Oversee contract administration, support budget planning, and manage invoice payments. Collaborate on developing and managing financial supplier audits.
7. Manage third-party partnerships and projects, including NGOs and academia, from development through reporting, including financial oversight.
8. Coordinate with Hershey legal team for contracting third parties and service providers, maintaining contract records.
9. Human rights due diligence. Develop action plans based on origin assessments and supplier implementation statuses.
10. Work with leadership to make decisions supporting human rights objectives, handle social issues, and promote initiative implementation.
11. Recommend process improvements within the role's scope.
12. Assist in organizing and delivering training programs with key partners.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. Strong project management skills with the ability to influence senior management.
2. Fluent in French and English; Spanish and Portuguese are a plus.
3. Experience in multicultural, multi-time zone environments.
4. Proven independence, proactive learning, and ownership.
5. Knowledge of sustainability data monitoring, verification, and reporting is advantageous.
6. Negotiation skills, experience in cost benchmarking, financial planning, and contracting.
7. Excellent people management and communication skills, with experience collaborating across cultures and nationalities.
8. Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
9. Willingness to travel up to 30% to cocoa origins worldwide.
10. Experience in West Africa or Latin America is highly desirable.
11. Knowledge of human rights is a strong plus.
Minimum Education and Experience:
1. Master’s degree in agronomy, international relations, business, or project management preferred.
2. At least 6 years of experience in program operations management, preferably with a corporate background. Experience with NGOs and academia is a plus.
3. Experience in food, agriculture, consumer goods, or supplier management preferred.
4. Experience with NGOs and human rights is a strong advantage.
