PpPhilogen is a Swiss-Italian integrated biotechnology company founded in 1996, dedicated to developing innovative biopharmaceuticals for cancer therapy. Philochem AG is the discovery RD center of the Philogen Group located in Otelfingen (Zurich, Switzerland). Promising preclinical candidates developed at Philochem are subsequently produced at Philogen’s authorized Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities in Siena (Italy). The Company currently sponsors and coordinates Phase I, II and III prospective clinical trials in Europe and in the United States. Despite the focus on cancer research, the company is also active in discovering innovative therapies for inflammatory conditions /ppPhilochem operates with four key departments: /pulliDiscovery of innovative therapeutic proteins /liliDevelopment of GMP-ready mammalian cell lines expressing therapeutic proteins /liliCreating diagnostic and therapeutic targeted small organic molecules /liliBridging Biology and Chemistry to support the advancement of preclinical and clinical products /li /ulpWe are looking for a highly motivated to join our Biology team for a 6–12 month in the field of, with a focus on /ppbispecific antibody therapeutics /pulliIn this project, you will support the, including bispecific and immunomodulatory formats. Your work will contribute to the preclinical evaluation of novel therapeutic candidates. You will apply state-of-the-art techniques in, and perform a range of (e.g., T cell activation, cytotoxicity, flow cytometry) to assess biological activity. During the project, you may also be exposed to to evaluate translational potential /lilidesign, engineering, and functional characterization of next-generation antibody-based molecules /lilimolecular cloning, protein expression, and purification /li /ulptesting of selected candidates in relevant models /ph3Your Tasks /h3ulliAssist in the generation of bispecific antibody constructs using molecular biology approaches /liliProduce and purify antibody-based molecules in mammalian expression systems /liliPerform in vitro functional assays (immune cell assays, reporter systems, binding assays, cytotoxicity) /liliAnalyze experimental data and contribute to troubleshooting and optimization /liliPresent results regularly within the internal team meetings /liliCollaborate closely with internal experts and academic supervisors /li /ulh3Your Profile /h3ulliCurrently enrolled in a master’s program in, or a related field /liliStrong interest in and therapeutic antibody development /liliSome practical experience in, or is a plus /liliFamiliarity with flow cytometry or immune assays is desirable but not required /liliEagerness to learn, good organizational skills, and a proactive mindset /liliVery good command of English (written and spoken) /liliA focused and dynamic in a translational biotech environment /liliAccess to and expert mentoring /lilicutting-edge research infrastructure /liliIntegration into an active RD team working on next-generation immunotherapies /liliOpportunity to gain real-world insights into drug discovery and antibody engineering /liliA collaborative and supportive scientific atmosphere /li /ulpApplications will be reviewed on a continuous basis.
