The Air Trade & Pricing is a Key support function to the Air Freight Manager.
Assist with carrier relations for Air Services in conjunction with the Air Freight Manager. Assist to drive new business to JAS by providing best procurement results geared towards growth plans in place and by supporting internal JAS customers (WAT team, Commercial channels and Customer Service teams / Branches) with strategic pricing & procurement solutions and to negotiate and manage the trades in conjunction with Air Freight Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
* Assist with tender management process:
o Kick-off for JAS subsidiary (from WW SBU or regional).
o Document action items and timelines for trade manager and LCL & domestic services.
o Accumulate all data and compile into a final response to owner (exception: regional trade lane tender).
o Create region to region pricing and rate updates as needed for commercial utilization.
* Participate in on-site carrier meetings as requested.
* Assist Air Freight Manager to Package and Communicate “Air Services Procurement strategy” to Argentina Branches, our Commercial Organization and our valuable overseas network.
* Contribute input to Air Freight Manager related to the Air Services Procurement Process; assist to fine tune and update processes as workflows change through enhancement, procurement, & rate tools (Catapult).
* Guide regional & local procurement colleagues during branch set-up through constant feedback & communication to individuals and managers; assist with learning and development initiatives and mentoring.
* Ensure timely response to all inquiries.
* Perform other position related duties as specified by management.
* Ensure adherence to all company policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Some supervisory responsibility may be required
QUALIFICATIONS :
* Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.
* Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* BA or BS Degree.
* Five+ years of experience forwarder or shipping industry in operations / procurement.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point.
* Additional languages may be required.
ENVIRONMENT :
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment.
