Senior Technician, Maintenance Automation
AliveDx is a commercial-stage diagnostics company advancing blood grouping and donor disease screening solutions for safer transfusions worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Technician, Maintenance Automation (reporting to the Team Leader, Maintenance) on a fixed-term contract until the end of the year. The role is responsible for the performance, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated systems, production equipment, and facilities within a regulated in vitro diagnostics industrial environment. The incumbent contributes to the availability, reliability, and safety of installations in compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IVDR, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 & Part 11). Note that this position is on a rotating shift pattern (2*8).
YOUR MISSION
* Automation, Control, Robotic & Vision Systems, and Communication PLC ↔ MES: diagnose and resolve automation, communication PLC ↔ MES, instrumentation, and industrial electrical failures.
* Implement program modifications (according to authorization level) and contribute to system upgrades.
* Improve performance of equipment (yield/OEE) and avoid scrap by optimizing production.
* Document interventions and update schematics, programs, and procedures.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems.
* Production Equipment Maintenance: perform maintenance activities on production equipment.
* Contribute to equipment reliability and performance improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with Production, Quality & IT to minimize downtime and secure equipment restarts.
* Contribute to equipment qualification / requalification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ, as applicable).
* Facilities Maintenance: ensure maintenance of general facilities including HVAC/air conditioning, utility networks (compressed air, water, vacuum), facility safety systems, building supervision, monitoring & electrical systems.
* Coordinate and follow up on external contractor interventions.
* Participate in ensuring regulatory compliance of facilities.
* Quality & Compliance: report non-conformities, participate in root cause analysis and CAPA implementation, manage non-conformities and deviations with Quality, be involved in audits and act as a field expert when needed, follow good documentation practices, and contribute to updating procedures and work instructions.
* Continuous Improvement OPEX & Performance: identify deviations and improvement opportunities, participate in LEAN initiatives (5S, Kaizen, VSM), propose workflow improvements, and monitor performance indicators.
* Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS): enforce EHS rules on the shop floor, report risks, suggest safety improvements, and support the documentation and investigation of EHS-related deviations and incidents.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
* Technician Maintenance with more than 8 years of experience or Engineer Maintenance
* Significant experience in automation, robotics, vision systems, and instrumentation
* Good knowledge of cGMPs
* Experience in clean room environments for Medical Device and Pharma
* Troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
* Ability to identify and manage root cause analyses
* IT skills to use automation software like Rockwell
* Punctual, flexible and responsible
* Fluent in English and French
