WinGD is looking for a Senior Performance Development Expert.
Responsibilities
* Lead planning, design, and implementation of complex and innovative marine engine retrofits.
* Investigate, numerically and experimentally, technology options for optimizing performances of 2-stroke engines retrofits with focus on scavenging, combustion and turbocharging processes.
* Develop tuning campaigns for retrofitted engines and conduct them on the vessel.
* Lead actively to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in marine engine retrofitting.
* Serve as technical authority for internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of marine engine retrofit performance.
* Define and maintain engine and system performance data based on simulations and testing results.
* Generate detailed performance reports.
Requirements
* MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Ing. ETH or HTL / FH or equivalent) with focus on combustion engines.
* More than 10 years of relevant experience desirable.
* Expert knowledge in thermodynamics, scavenging, combustion (gas and liquid fuels) and turbocharging processes at the heart of 2-stroke engines (both Otto and Diesel cycle engines).
* Experience with engine simulation tools like GT Power.
* Solid background on engine tuning.
* Open for working on vessels and traveling (mainly Asia) several weeks - months per year.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and take initiative.
* Strong communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with both internal & external customers) and team player.
* Good command of English language (written & oral).
* German appreciated.
