As CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological vision, scaling our platforms, and empowering teams across the company while leading a talented, fully remote development team. Your Tasks

1. Technology Strategy & Architecture

1. Define and drive Neho’s technology vision and roadmap in line with business goals

2. Drive the design, development, and evolution of our internal platforms, CRM, and digital tools

3. Lead architectural decisions across platforms, data, and cloud strategy

4. Ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

5. Balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability and technical debt

6. Establish best practices across software development, DevOps, testing, and quality

2. Leadership

7. Recruit senior engineers and engineering leaders as the organization scales

8. Lead and structure a fully remote team of 20 developers, provide guidance and develop internal leaders

3. Execution & Delivery Excellence

10. Ensure fast, reliable, and predictable delivery of product and platform initiatives

11. Establish effective delivery processes (Agile/Shape-Up/Hybrid)

12. Remove blockers and manage cross-team dependencies

13. Hold teams accountable for outcomes, not just output

4. Quality, Security & Operational Stability

14. Set standards for code quality, testing, and reviews

15. Own system reliability, monitoring, and incident response

16. Ensure security, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, SOC2, etc. where relevant)

17. Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks as the platform scales

5. Business & Stakeholder Alignment

18. Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

19. Work closely with CEO, Head of Product, and other leaders on priorities

20. Clearly communicate technical trade-offs and translate to non-technical stakeholders

21. Support go-to-market initiatives, integrations, and evolving customer needs

Job requirements

What you bring

Essential

29. 5+ years of experience in leading remote tech teams in a CTO function or equivalent role

30. Strong track record working for startups or scale-ups with the ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments

31. Passionate about leading, coaching and mentoring engineering teams, challenging technical decisions, identifying skill gaps, and driving continuous improvement in team performance and efficiency

32. Minimum 7 years of back-end experience (PHP), including 4+ years with Laravel at scale

33. Deep expertise in React architecture and front-end systems

34. Strong experience in managing and maintaining CRM systems, ensuring smooth operation and supporting ongoing development and optimization

35. Results-driven with a strong commitment to achieving excellence and driving initiatives across the organization

36. Proven ability to collaborate across departments and work with management to define technology strategy, product roadmaps, and execution plans

37. Professional proficiency in English

Nice to have

38. French or Romanian language skills

39. Expertise with additional technologies listed in tech stack below

40. Experience leading AI-driven projects or integrating AI into products or processes

What you are working with

As our CTO, you will lead a sophisticated technology landscape that powers our platforms and digital products. While hands-on coding is not required, familiarity with some technologies would be beneficial.

The current stack includes:

41. Back-end: PHP with Laravel, including advanced features like service containers, facades, middleware, service providers, and optimized database interactions with Eloquent ORM (handling N+1 issues, eager loading, and scopes)

42. Front-end: ReactJS for our CRMs and customer-facing experiences, plus NextJS for a recently acquired platform

43. UI / Styling: Bootstrap (CSS framework) for responsive and scalable interfaces

44. APIs & Integrations: REST and GraphQL for seamless internal and external integrations

45. Background Processes & Queues: Redis, Horizon, and job queues for efficient, reliable asynchronous processing

46. Authentication & Security: Robust auth systems including Sanctum, Passport, and OAuth2.
