As a Principal Industry Consultant for Health Insurance at vector8 in Switzerland, you will be the senior voice across our Swiss health insurance engagements - combining deep industry knowledge, an active network, and the technical fluency to operate credibly across strategy, business, and technology conversations. You will shape how Swiss insurers prioritise, scope, govern, and scale AI initiatives, and you will stay close enough to delivery to know whether they actually land.
You will work closely with consultants, solution architects, and engineering leads. Depending on the engagement, you will own the client relationship directly or serve as the senior industry voice on a delivery team. Either way, the quality of thinking in the room and the credibility we have with the client, is your responsibility.
Job requirements
* 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 6 years in Swiss health insurance - either inside a Krankenversicherer, or in a consulting role with a clear Swiss health insurance track record
* Active network across the Swiss health insurance ecosystem: carriers, brokers, regulators, industry bodies (santésuisse, curafutura), and the relevant technology vendors (Adcubum, Sobrado, Guidewire, etc.)
* Proven track record advising senior stakeholders on strategy, transformation, or technology programs in Swiss health insurance - comparable regulated environments (other CH insurance lines, pharma, public sector) considered as adjacent strength but not as substitute for health insurance depth
* Deep understanding of the Swiss health insurance operating model: KVG vs. VVG, claims, underwriting, customer service, broker channels, and the realities of running on legacy core systems
* Strong working knowledge of modern AI and data architectures - hands‑on coding is not required, but you must be able to read an architecture critically, conduct a credible design review, and challenge engineering decisions on substance
* Meaningful exposure to AI in an enterprise context: where it works, where it doesn’t, and the discipline required to take a use case from PoC to production - including governance considerations relevant to Swiss insurers (FINMA where applicable, nDSG, internal model risk)
* Strategy‑consultant craft: structured problem‑solving, clear written communication, comfort framing recommendations for C‑suite and board‑level audiences
* Commercial awareness: shaping engagement scope, owning proposals, and contributing to account growth
* Languages: native or near‑native German (Swiss German strongly preferred), business‑fluent English; French a plus
* Comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where you build the practice while you deliver for clients
Job responsibilities
* Lead senior client stakeholders through AI and transformation strategy, target architecture definition, and use case prioritisation - framing problems, shaping approaches, and maintaining enough proximity to delivery to keep recommendations executable
* Own complex, multi‑workstream engagements end‑to‑end: define outcomes, translate business ambition into delivery plans, and hold accountability for value realization
* Serve as the senior industry voice across the Swiss health insurance vertical - bringing deep domain expertise to client conversations, internal scoping, and proposal shaping
* Lead technical design reviews together with solution architects and engineering leads - bring credible alternatives when an approach is unlikely to hold up in production or under regulatory scrutiny
* Own or co‑own client relationships - anticipate stakeholder concerns, manage escalations, and develop account opportunities
* Support pre‑sales with credible scoping, realistic effort estimates, and a clear point of view on what is worth building and why
* Sharpen Vector8’s Swiss health insurance offering - defining the use cases we lead with, refining our AI Implementation System (AIS) for insurance‑specific patterns, and turning project learnings into reusable assets
* Contribute to Vector8’s intellectual capital - approaches, accelerators, and frameworks that make the next engagement sharper
* Compensation & rewards: Competitive base salary with a variable performance‑based bonus
* Work environment: Modern office in the heart of Zurich with access to an on‑site gym, sports classes (yoga, pilates, spinning) and healthy snacks
* Flexibility: Hybrid working model — balance remote work with in‑office collaboration
* Learning & growth: Ongoing investment in your professional development, with clear opportunities to take on leadership
* Parental leave: 16 weeks fully paid maternity leave, with a flexible 50% return‑to‑work option in the first month (while receiving full salary) and 4 weeks fully paid leave for the second parent
* Travel & mobility: Paid Halbtax travel card to support sustainable commuting
* Team & culture: Join a diverse, international team across 5 locations, with regular team events and opportunities for cross‑border collaboration
* Recognition & rewards: Attractive referral bonuses for both candidate and client conversions
* Our values: A culture grounded in inclusivity, curiosity, ownership, and collaboration — where your ideas shape the future of AI consulting
