Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located in Geneva for an Internal Auditor.
The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, evaluates internal controls, and contributes to the continuous improvement of governance, risk management, and control processes. The Internal Auditor works under the guidance of the Head of Internal Audit and interacts regularly with business and control owners.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution
* Conduct risk based financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits in line with the annual audit plan.
* Perform walkthroughs, document processes, and identify key risks and control gaps.
* Design and execute audit tests to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
* Evaluate the bank’s compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Reporting and Communication
* Prepare clear, concise audit workpapers that support audit conclusions.
* Draft audit reports summarizing findings, root causes, and practical recommendations.
* Present audit results to business stakeholders and support the Head of Internal Audit in communication with senior management and the Audit and Risk Committee.
Follow-up and Monitoring
* Monitor the implementation of agreed action plans and validate remediation activities.
* Track outstanding issues and elevate delays or non effective remediation where needed.
Risk Management and Advisory Services
* Contribute to the bank’s risk assessment process, identifying emerging risks, fraud indicators, or regulatory developments impacting the organization.
* Provide advisory support on new initiatives, system implementations, and process enhancements to ensure appropriate control design.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
* Ensure all audit work complies with Internal Audit methodology and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA).
* Participate in the continuous improvement of audit tools, processes, and methodologies.
Requirements
* Audit experience of minimum 3 years with exposure to international banking environments.
* Perfect command of English.
* Experience in process reviews, thematic audits, or risk assessments.
* Understanding of Basel III/IV principles and other banking regulatory expectations.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
* High ethical standards, objectivity, and professional scepticism.
