Tesla is seeking an ambitious EHS Specialist - Associate to support our growing network of Tesla Sales, Services, Deliveries, and Body shops.
The EHS Specialist - Associate reports to the EHS Regional Leader. This position will require regional and international travel within Central and/or Eastern Europe. The role requires adaptability to market expansion needs as the business grows.
You will use human and organizational principles to promote ownership of safety, health, and environmental impacts, focusing on engagement, learning from events, training, and systems-level problem solving.
The focus is achieving compliance and risk control within the company’s and regulatory agencies’ standards in environmental, health, and safety.
The candidate must work well on both self-initiated projects and those driven by stakeholders. An environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded is essential.
What You'll Do
1. Analyze incident trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness, and environmental impact events.
2. Interface with local regulatory agencies on permitting, reporting, and related issues.
3. Be a visible model in the field and teach, train, and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS concepts and principles to reduce risk. Influence, inspire, and empower teams to minimize risk per Tesla's EHS vision, values, and principles.
4. Develop and maintain partnerships, serving as a key advisor on EHS matters to Tesla operations leaders, stakeholders, associates, EHS team members, and contracting partners.
5. Conduct proactive, zero-blame, learning-focused field observations to verify that work in progress meets EHS goals and document findings.
6. Identify operational gaps and facilitate creative solutions, including engaging key stakeholders and driving innovative EHS solutions with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, or Industrial Hygiene.
* Or significant work experience in environmental, health, and safety.
* Knowledge of European work regulations and requirements.
* Excellent written and verbal skills in English and the local language of the base country.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, result-driven with a strong desire to succeed.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills; ability to positively interact with senior management, regulators, frontline workers, and third parties.
* Ability to prioritize and support multiple departments.
* Great attention to detail, problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, and ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
* Ideally, hold a valid driver’s license.
* Flexible in time management and willing to travel up to 50% within the regional area.
