The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) invites applications for an Assistant with a Mas-ter's degree in Hydrology for the Institute of Earth Sciences within the Department of environment, constructions and design (DACD), located in Mendrisio. Full-time employment is expected, with a contract starting in the second part of 2026, on a mutually agreed date.
Duties and responsibilities
* Collaborate in the activities carried out by the Institute of Earth Sciences to support the sustainable management of surface wa-ter resources.
* Process data from the various monitoring networks managed by the Institute in the Canton of Ticino.
* Participate in research and service projects in the field of hydrology, as well as work in synergy with other sectors of the Institute.
Requirements
* Master's degree in environmental engineering or science, geosciences or related disciplines, obtained within the last three years.
* Work experience in hydrology or aquatic sciences, or a master's thesis in these disciplines, is an advantage.
* Good knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), excellent knowledge of the Office package.
* Ability to work in a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and multidisciplinarity.
* Flexibility to achieve goals and ability to work within established deadlines.
* Excellent knowledge of the Italian language (spoken and written).
* Good knowledge of a second national language and English.
