Role description:
The company has significantly grown its capital base in recent years and has embarked on a period of strategic expansion, both geographically and into new business areas, including industrial plants, real estate, and aviation.To support this growth, the company is seeking a seasoned Group Head of Accounting to take responsibility for the financial, administrative, and risk management operations of the company and its subsidiaries in close collaboration with the CFO – to whom this role directly reports into.
This role would be Onsite, located at our headquarters in Wollerau, Switzerland.
Key responsibilities:
* Monitor and oversee daily P&L via a real-time dashboard
* Ensure accurate financial recordkeeping in compliance with relevant regulations
* Maintain adequate company financing and liquidity to meet all obligations
* Oversee accounts receivable processes, including debtor control, follow-ups, and escalations
* Manage a team of accountants and finance professionals
* Ensure timely submission of tax returns and manage interactions with tax authorities and audits
* Develop and maintain compliant transfer pricing documentation
* Provide financial reporting to the management board as required
* Document and ensure adherence to key internal processes and controls
* Actively manage the company's foreign exchange exposure
* Lead day-to-day accounting operations across all subsidiaries (general/subledgers, AP/AR, reconciliations) and ensure compliance with legal, accounting, and tax standards through hands-on involvement.
* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings (standalone and group), and deliver timely consolidated and statutory reports
* Act as the main contact for audits and authorities. Ensure audit readiness, enhance internal controls, and implement an accounting & reporting manual
* Oversee tax compliance across jurisdictions, including VAT and annual tax returns, while advising on tax structuring
* Own and evolve ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, ELO, etc.) and drive automation and scalability across accounting processes
* Lead the accounting team and actively contribute to cross-functional projects that support the group's growth and innovation
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years' relevant hands-on experience both as a senior accountant as well as a team leader in an international environment
* Hold a chartered accountant certification (e.g., Swiss federal diploma, CPA, ACCA), or have a Bachelor's/Master's in finance, accounting, or controlling
* Experience with Swiss GAAP FER, IFRS, US GAAP and other regulatory frameworks
* Proven experience in accounting consolidation
* Deep understanding of accounting software
* Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
* Knowledge of specific industry regulations (Logistics & Transportation)
* Experience in multinational and multi-entity accounting environments
* Experience in operating in the U.S., Europe, and Swiss markets, including familiarity with local financial regulations
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
* High proficiency in both written and spoken German and English
