Mechanical Methods / Industrialization Engineer
to support repair and rework activities on complex mechanical systems. This role requires a strong on‑site presence, working closely with workshop teams to analyze damage, define repair strategies, and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
You will play a key role in bridging engineering and production, contributing directly to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze damaged mechanical components and assess assembly interfaces and constraints
* Define and validate repair sequences (disassembly, refurbishment, adjustment, reassembly)
* Identify required tools, consumables, torque specifications, and spare parts
* Interpret mechanical drawings, including legacy documentation
* Develop and update work instructions, method sheets, and technical documentation
* Define repair processes and maintain data within ERP/PLM systems
* Support workshop technicians during repair activities and validate processes on‑site
* Troubleshoot technical issues related to accessibility, interfaces, or assembly constraints
* Participate in testing and final validation to ensure safety, quality, and reliability
* Apply and oversee mechanical processes such as controlled tightening (torquing), bonding, and crimping
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, engineering, quality, logistics)
* Contribute to planning, workload estimation, and risk identification, proposing corrective actions when needed
* Support the Methods Manager in monitoring and coordinating overall activities
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
* 5-10 years of experience in methods, industrialization, manufacturing, or mechanical repair
* Experience in mechanical assembly (fitting) or repair/rework activities within industries such as railway, automotive, aerospace, or heavy equipment
* Comfortable working in a hands‑on, shop‑floor environment
* Knowledge of tightening/torqueing processes
* Ability to write clear and structured technical documentation
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP is a plus)
* English and French fluency is mandatory; German is a plus.
