Overview
PhD Student in Optical and Electrical Measurements of Quantum Devices – Swiss Light Source (Paul Scherrer Institute). The position involves experimental work on quantum nanostructures and devices, including optical and electrical measurements at cryogenic temperatures, within a team of scientists and students.
Responsibilities
* Conceptualisation and design of state-of-the-art quantum nanostructures and devices, based on Rydberg states in silicon, within a team of scientists and students.
* Characterisation of these nanostructures and devices using optical and electrical transport methods at cryogenic temperatures.
* Publication and presentation of high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Your profile
* You have a master’s degree in physical science or engineering, with a focus on quantum mechanics and/or condensed matter physics.
* You have a keen interest in experimental research in quantum technologies and nanoscience.
* You are a highly motivated team player with good communication skills.
* Experience in some of the following fields will be of advantage: quantum science and engineering, transport measurements and optics.
